Louise LeTourneau's Obituary
Finally HOME! Louise Jensen LeTourneau of Longview, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 28, 2017. The memorial service is Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. Gregg Zackary and Scott Schulik officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 p.m.
Louise was born on May 28, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois to Maurice and Hildur Jensen, both of whom immigrated from Norway. Her parents were strong Christians and she grew up with her twin sister, Lillian, in a Norwegian Evangelical Free Church. At age 10, she realized that she too needed a Savior and put her faith in Jesus Christ. Growing up she enjoyed being active and liked to roller skate and ice skate. After high school she worked with her father, the plant photographer, at R.G. LeTourneau, Inc. in Peoria, Illinois. It was there she met the love of her life, Richard H. LeTourneau. They were married on February 8, 1947, after he returned from serving in the Army during World War II. Faithfully devoted to her husband and four children, Louise was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed welcoming people in her home. She was the hostess with the mostest!
She was a member at Mobberly Baptist Church where she was active with the Senior Adults and Widow to Widow. She loved Jesus and unashamedly told everyone she met about Him.
Louise was preceded in death by Richard, her loving husband of 57 years, parents, twin sister Lillian Scobee, grandson Jacob, great grandson Adam and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
Louise is survived by her four children and their spouses: Gil (Virginia), Caleb (Kathy), Linda Vann (Larry) and Liela, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and other dear family and friends.
Louise requested that in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to the Dr. Richard H. LeTourneau Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund at LeTourneau University, P.O. Box 7333, Longview, Texas 75607.
