Louis (Buddy) Reeves Jr.'s Obituary
Louis (Buddy) Reeves was born in Garrison, Texas on August 12, 1933 to Don and Percy Reeves. He was called home by his heavenly Father early Saturday morning, September 20, 2014. He was one of five children, two of which preceded him in death. They were a sister, Lynda Paramore, and a brother, Billy Reeves.
He retired from Texas Eastman in 1993 after 35 years of service. He was a true outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Most of all, he loved sharing stories with his family. He always had a project to work on or a recipe to try. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart and soul. He also cherished and loved all of his church family at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview where he was an active member.
We, as a family, want to honor this Amazing and Wonderful man, that we had the privilege of knowing and loving for over 80 years. Thank you for gifting us with your wisdom, guidance, encouragement, and most of all…. your love. We are so grateful for the tremendous legacy you left behind for your wife, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. You will always remain in our hearts forever and ever.
Those left to cherish his memory are his amazing and beautiful wife of 57 years, Mona Reeves of Longview, daughters Joni Davis and her husband Derrill of Longview, and Angie Mandile and her husband Scott of Canyon Lake. Granddaughters Ashley Goza and her husband Jeff of Kilgore, and Sarah Clark of Canyon Lake, Grandsons, Austin Davis and his wife Haylee of Coppell, Hunter Davis and his wife Katie of Longview, and Jonathan Clark of Longview. Great-granddaughter Emma Davis of Coppell, and great-grandson Noah Goza of Kilgore, brother, Richard Reeves of Garrison and sister, Donna Rambin and her husband Buddy of Garrison and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Even though he was a brother-in-law to Jodie Smelley, Wayne Long, and Linda McConnell, he was their father figure. And Wyman and Amelia Akin were a very special brother and sister-in-law.
Both the visitation and services will be held at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Longview, Texas under the direction of Rader Funeral Home, Longview. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at the church. Funeral services will be the next day, Wednesday at 10am also at the church with Rev. Charles Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery in Longview. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woodland Hills Baptist Church building fund or the Gideon’s Int.
