Louis E. Bechtol, Jr.
Funeral services for Louis E. Bechtol, Jr., 88, a resident of the Greenhouse at Buckner Westminster Place in Longview Texas; will be held in Garland Texas, at Williams Funeral Home on Monday, May 25, 2009 at 3:30pm with Dr. Rick Webb officiating. Burial will be at Mills Cemetery in Garland Texas following the service. Visitation will be held at Rader funeral home in Longview on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00pm with a visitation in Garland at Williams Funeral Home on Monday at 2:00pm before services.
Mr. Bechtol was born August 26, 1920 in Garland Texas, to Louis Elmer and Eva Bechtol. He married Oma Jean Dunaway in Garland on December 23, 1941. L.E. lived most of his life in Garland and after retiring from Mercantile National Bank of Dallas, he and Oma Jean moved to Tool Texas, where they where members of the Calvary Baptist Church and then to Buckner Westminster Place in Longview. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army in the European Theater. He passed away Friday, May 22, 2009, at Good Shepard Medical Center.
L.E., or Louis as he was known to his friends at Buckner, was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, infant daughter, four brothers and one sister. He survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Linda Bechtol, Granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Robert Myatt, one brother and his wife, Walter and Lavanna Bechtol, one sister, Blanche Foster, and sister-in-laws and bother-in-law Laverne Bechtol, Fern Bechtol, Mary Lou and Guy McClung and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Buckner Westminster Place, Dr. Larry Frase, Dr. C. Richard Earnest, Dr. O. J. Chastain and Good Shepard Medical Center staff for the care and concern given to our Dad.
