Louis Earl Doherty's Obituary
Funeral services for Louis E. Doherty will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at Rader Funeral Home. Mr. Doherty passed away on November 5, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Louis was born on February 3, 1947, in Waterproof, LA, to parents Henry and Frances Doherty. Louis loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing; and treasured any time he got to spend with the grandchildren. Louis was the anchor that kept his family together and worked hard to keep family close together. He vehemently loved his daughters, and wife; and a day never went by that he didn’t remind them of their beauty and how much they mattered to him.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Frances Doherty; siblings Johnny Doherty, Billy Doherty, Bobbie Merchant, Bernice Lummus and Macy Powell; and son-in-law Paul Chain. Those left to cherish their memories of Louis include his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Doherty; daughters Tammy Welch with her husband James and Pamela Chain-Fudge with her husband Wayne; grandchildren Kourtni Stanaker with her husband Trevor, Cody Johnson, Trey Chain with his wife Irina, Colton Welch, Jensen Chain, Abby Chain and Jessica Hancock with her husband Justin; great-grandchildren Sydney Stanaker and Callum Chain; siblings Doris George, Sarah George, Rodney Doherty with his wife Anita, Carolyn Kelley and Keith Doherty
