Lori Manning Reeves' Obituary
Lori grew up in Longview, the daughter of Jack and Sue Manning and sister of Melanie. She married her soul mate Larry Reeves in 1995. A few years later they were blessed with their bright and beautiful daughter Maddy, who Lori adored and always put her needs above everything else. While in Longview, Lori and her Mom owned Candy in Bloom. She was a member of the Junior League of Longview and always loved the special missions they shared to help others. She was a Sunday school teacher for First United Methodist Church of Longview and volunteered many hours at School for Little Children.
Her family moved to McKinney in 2004 and she continued her involvement with Maddy’s schools and volunteer work. She later became employed with Frisco Lakes adult community as a Lifestyle Coordinator. She loved her job, her coworkers, and many of the residents who loved her in return. Lori never realized how much she brightened a room with her amazing smile and wonderful sense of humor.
She grew up very close to her sister, and later her niece Erin and Melanie’s husband David Ceal. She spent many summers and vacations with her aunts, uncles, and cousins and was instrumental in keeping the family close through the years. She lost her grandmother in 2011 and her dad in 2015, but she maintained her happiness and spirit until the very end. She made us laugh right up until she was unable to talk. We could never be more proud of the spirit and fight she put up as she went through her battle with cancer over the last year and half. Her light never dimmed and we will miss her forever. She would have loved for anyone who would like to do something in her name to donate to the cause closest to your heart.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Karen Wilson officiating.
