Graveside services for Lorene ?Grandma? Jones, 92, of Joinerville will be held Saturday, September 23, 2006 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Joinerville with Rev. Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Grandma Jones passed away Thursday, September 21, 2006, at her home in Joinerville..She was born January 23, 1914, in Success, Arkansas.
Grandma was a cafeteria manager for the Henderson Independent School District before retiring in 1979. She enjoyed watching her grandsons play sports and her summer vacations to Holly Park on Toledo Bend. While at Holly Park, she enjoyed fishing for crappie and spending time with her vacation family, Denise, Brian, and Jerica Harville every summer. She was able to make her final trip this summer before becoming ill. Memories of her enjoying herself on these trips will always put a smile on our faces.
She and her sister-in-law, Dessie Jones, always had a special relationship and enjoyed their time together. Until the drivers license had to be taken, you could always see them together on Fridays going to the beauty shop , out to eat, to the grocery store and where ever else they could sneak off to. Her sister-in-law passed away in March, 2006 so once again they will be together. The memories of these two will be cherished forever.
Grandma was a wonderful Mother, Mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her eyes would light up and a huge smile would come over her face when her great granddaughters would come to visit up to the end. Memories of Grandma will last forever.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, J.C. Jack Jones and Edward C. Beene, Sr., her parents, Pearl and Charlie Shearwood and sister Betty Lou Sherwood.
Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Wallace Judalet, Sr. of Joinerville; sons and daughters ?in-law, Ed and Pat Beene of Henderson and Larry and Faye Beene of Concord. Grandsons: Jamie and wife Misty Beene of Ponta, Brad and Corey Cox of Joinerville, Wallace Judalet, Jr. of Henderson, Jeremy and Kyle Judalet of Joinerville. Granddaughter: Tracy Wood of Henderson. Granddaughters-in-law: Leslie Heyn of Nacogdoches and Jana Sanford of Troup. Great granddaughters: Keyana Heyn and Adelyn Cox of Nacogdoches, Karissa Cox of Troup, Morgan Beene and Meagan Beene of Ponta, Bethany Wood and Riana Wood of Henderson.
She is also survived by a sister, Gay Turner of Bossier City, LA; numerous nieces and nephews. Grandma is also survived by family members, Tuana Downs of Henderson and Denise, Brian, and Jerica Harville of Henderson.
Pallbearers will be Robert Allen Jones, Walter Earl Hammett, Jimmy Jones, Melton Thomas, Zach Echhade and Bobby Judalet.
Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.
