Lorene Bryan Youngblood's Obituary
Graveside services for Lorene Bryan Youngblood, age 97 of Henderson, will be held at 9:30am Saturday July 24, 2010 at the Laneville Cemetery with Rev. William H. Hinson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of the Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Youngblood passed away Thursday July 22, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Youngblood was born April 10, 1913 in Laneville. She was a 1931 graduate of Laneville High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Stephen F. Austin University. She taught school in Glenfawn, Cushing, Angleton, Lake Jackson, Seminole, and Andrews She retired after 30 years of teaching.
She was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henderson.
She married J.B. Youngblood on November 27, 1936. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1989. Also preceding her in death were her parents J.M. & Vinnie Bryan; sister Clara Sue Jones; brothers J.H Chick Bryan, Bill Bryan, Tom Bryan, and Joe Frank Bryan.
She is survived by ; sister Mary Lou Bryan of Henderson, nieces Kathy Burton-Lewis Tokyo Japan, Sugene Hall & husband John of College Station, Marcelyn Sledge of Henderson; nephews James Bryan & wife Dot, Ike Bryan, Billy Todd Bryan & wife Charlotte all of Laneville, Larry Akin & wife Patti of New Salem.
Mrs. Youngblood had the loving care of Barbara Brown, Opal Trimble, Mildred Brown, and Mary Johnson for over three years. Thanks to all of you for your help and support.
Also thanks to Dr. Sanford Ladage for taking care of her as her physician for twenty years.
