Lonnie LaNell Abernathy's Obituary
Services for Lonnie LaNell Abernathy, 92, of Longview will be held 10 AM Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with Dr. Laney Johnson officiating. Ms. Abernathy passed away Friday night in a Longview hospital. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 3-5 PM Sunday, October 16, 2005 at the funeral home.
Ms. Abernathy was born in Cass County, Texas on November 5, 1912 to J.B. and Elizabeth McCain. She has been in Longview since 1942. She retired from the Camera Shop in Longview after working as a salesperson for over 25 years. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and enjoyed being a member of Young at Heart, the Golden Praisesingers, and the Senior Adult Sunday School class.
She was faithful in her service to the Lord above all else, and loved and enjoyed her family and her church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.A. ?Bob? Abernathy; 1 son James Abernathy; sons-in-law D.C. Clark and Clifford Felts; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
She is survived by her daughters, Jerry Clark and Linda Felts; Grandchildren and their spouses: Danny Clark and wife Shirley, Kay Hopkins and husband Tommy, Linda Hopkins and husband Kenneth, Randy Clark and wife Annette, and Mark Felts and wife Pam; 7 Great-Grandchildren; 18 Great-Great-Grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
