Lois Irene Reynolds' Obituary
Lois Irene Reynolds former resident of Tulsa passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Longview, Texas. She was born in 1919 and raised in Joplin, Missouri where she met and married Dr. Daniel A. Reynolds in 1940 and they moved to Tulsa. She was very active in the lives of their two daughters, church, scouting, swimming and dancing, always their “fan club.” About 1960 she answered a friend’s plea to fill in for 6 weeks at Ponca City Savings and Loan and she retired in 1985, after 25 years as a VP and manager, at what had become Frontier Federal Savings and Loan. Widowed in 1985 she met Cecil Potts in 1995 and they were special friends for 10 years.
Lois was a rare person who could light up a room without focusing attention on her, make strangers feel that they found in her a long-lost friend and find beauty in ordinary things. She was a phenomenal grandmother “PooDoo” and very involved in her grandchildren’s lives. They brought her so much joy and happiness. Throughout her life church, family and friends were foremost as was her love for her country. An active volunteer she worked for numerous charitable causes in Tulsa. She was a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church where she served on several committees and was also a Deacon.
In 2007 she moved to Longview to be near her daughter and son-in-law.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents Marjorie and William Harrison Hatfield, husband Dr. Daniel A. Reynolds, daughter Danna McPhail, and Cecil Potts.
She is survived by sister Shirley Schuler of Aurora, Colorado, daughter and son-in-law Jane and Allen Lovitt of Longview, Texas, Grandson and wife Chris R. and Beverly Vaughn of Tulsa, Granddaughter and husband Vanessa and Chris Keiser of
Central City, Pennsylvania, granddaughter Bronwyn Marhsall and husband Ted of Phoenix, Arizona, and great-grandsons Chris C. Vaughn and Jack C. Keiser.
