Lloyd Wayne Carrell's Obituary
Services for Lloyd Wayne Carrell, 49, of Longview will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 27, 2007, in the Chapel at Rader Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Carrell passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007, following a long battle with diabetes and heart disease.
Mr. Carrell was born September 7, 1957, to Gene and Mary Ann Carrell in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He attended Spring Hill ISD and graduated from Spring Hill High School in 1976. Mr. Carrell was a devoted husband and father. Always the cowboy, Lloyd had amazing success as a team roper, winning multiple titles, including a national championship. He loved working with animals and was a natural horseman. Mr. Carrell also touched many young lives while coaching his sons in football. His most memorable attribute was his charisma and ability to make people laugh .
Preceding Mr. Carrell in death was his father, Gene Carrell.
He leaves behind his loving wife Lola of Longview; a son and his wife, Chris and Monique Cox of Dallas, and a son, Ryan Cox of College Station; his mother, Mary Ann Carrell of Longview; and his two brothers, Mike Carrell and David Carrell, both of Longview. In addition, Lloyd leaves behind a host of family and friends who will miss him terribly.
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Sunday evening, August 26th at Rader Funeral Home.
