Lloyd T. ?Willie? Williams
Funeral services for Lloyd T. ?Willie? Williams, 85, of Longview will be held at Two O?clock pm Saturday April 16, 2005 at Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Reverend David Lawson and Reverend Gene Petty officiating. Entombment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Williams passed away Wednesday April 13, 2005 in Longview.
He was born August 24, 1919 in Trenton, Nebraska to Forest and Opal Williams. He had lived in Longview since 1942, returning here after serving in the U.S. Army during World War ll after the war he worked as an X-Ray technician in the old Harmon General Hospital.
He was an Electrician having worked as Manager for Messner Electric Company and as a Purchaser for LeTourneau. He was a member of the Oakland Heights Baptist Church, past president of the Jaycees and was on the committee that purchased the land where the Fairgrounds now sit. He also donated his time and knowledge to wire the original Mobberly Avenue Baptist Church when it was being built. He also raised Angus Beef Cattle as a hobby.
He is survived by his devoted wife Evelyn of Longview, son, Michael Williams of Longview, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Prentice Conway of Shreveport, La.; three grandchildren, Lance Williams, Kim Fox and Susan Conway, two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb Fox, two sisters, Joyce Stupka and Lois Williams, one brother Curtis Williams, and many other relatives.
Memorials may be made to the Oakland Height Baptist Church 1600 Judson Road Longview, Texas 75601 or a charity of choice.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday April 15, 2005 from 6pm until 7pm.
