Lisa Langston 's Obituary
Lisa Helen Langston
Lisa Helen Langston, 54, of Longview, entered into eternal life on November 11, 2014, after fighting a courages battle with cancer. She was born March 10, 1960, in Palestine, TX, to Robert Quinn and Marcia Barrow Langston. There will be a private family graveside celebration of Lisa’s life in Palestine, TX led by Roy James, Senior Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Longview where she will rest in peace with her mother and grandparents. Roy brought a comfort and peace to Lisa and her family as he guided her spiritually toward eternal life.
Lisa loved her family and friends unconditionally as she lived her life caring for and nurturing others from the children during her years and Applewood Academy Day Care to her beloved nieces and nephews. She loved children and also served as a very special “nanny” to Brandon and Kristen Mobbs. Lisa devoted 12 years of her life caring for her mother even while she struggled with her own illness. She always put others needs ahead of her own. She was strong willed and protective of her family, always wanting to be in control of her own health care to the very end. Lisa’s dear friend, Debbie Comfort brought laughter to the sadness of her passing by saying, “Watch out God, here she comes!” to which her siblings, Lynn, Bob and Jason replied, “Oh yeah, she will try to take control of something up in Heaven!”
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marcia Barrow Langston; her grandparents, W.E. and Lucretia Hodges Barrow; and grandparents, Carrie Virginia and Bill Langston.
Those left to cherish her memory include her father, Bob Langston and wife Denise; her sister, Lynn and husband Curtis Crane; her brothers, Bob Langston and Jason Langston; and Sister, Laci Langston. Her beloved nieces and nephews include: Austen Crane, Corbin Crane, Samantha Langston, Bree Anna Langston, and Nicole Langston. Also her long time dear friends; Jimmy Crook, Mandy Owens Mantooth, Debbie Comfort, and Gloria Mathis.
In the spirit of giving to honor Lisa’s memory you may donate to the American Cancer Society or simply give your time to help others as she did.
