Lisa Gilbert Cash's Obituary
Lisa Gilbert Cash went to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on May 28, 2011. Lisa graduated from UT Arlington and was a life time member of Tri Delta Sorority. She grew up and lived in Arlington until her marriage to Thomas Cash. Lisa was an educator, she taught school for 19 years. Teaching 13 years with Grand Prairie ISD, and 6 years with Gladewater ISD. Teaching was truly her calling in life! She loved children and teaching them with all her heart. Lisa's great love for the Lord, her family and friends was always known.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Tom Cash; her grandparents, Kenneth Hammond, Ann Gilbert, Thurman Gilbert, Aunt Betty Holmes and Aunt Becky VanBevers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Thomas Cash of White Oak; her parents, Kenna and Gary Gilbert of Longview; her mother-in-law, Leslyn Cash of Longview; sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Joe Cash; her grandmother, Flo Hammond of Grand Prairie; niece Brielle and nephew, Aiden Cash of Allen, TX; her uncle Lonnie Holmes of Grand Prairie; uncle Mark and Trisha Hammond of Grand Prairie; nephews Kaden Smith and Kevin Holmes JR along with many dear cousins, relatives and friends.
The family request that memorials be made to the American Cancer Association, or to the American Lung Association.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM at Rader Funeral Home of Longview, and Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie, TX under the direction of Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moore Memorial Gardens.
