Linnie Weeden's Obituary
On Tuesday, February 21, 2012, Linnie Alice Weeden was swept into the arms of her heavenly father, Jesus Christ. Linnie was born on May 30, 1942 in Gilmer, TX. She has been married for 52 years to Bobby Weeden and they have lived the last 20 years on Lake Cherokee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Jessie Mae Richards of Simpsonville, TX, and her brothers, Craig and Derrall Richards.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, and their 3 children, Jessica Allen and her husband Kelly of Longview, Steven Weeden and his wife Carmon of Ft. Worth, and Joe Weeden and his wife Skye of Austin. They have 7 beautiful grandchildren that will miss their "Grammy" dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Nell Bracken of Kingsbury, TX and her brother, Jerry Richards of Simpsonville, TX.
Linnie lived an eventful and blessed life of raising her children, a 20 year career as a nurse, and had a true love for the outdoors, highlighted by her achievement of becoming a Master Gardener.
Linnie accepted Christ at a young age and loved serving and worshiping with her community at Lakeview Baptist Church. The church was a tremendous support during their recent journey.
The Weeden family appreciates the outpouring of love and support by so many. HeartsWay Hospice, Longview Cancer Center, Dr. Lewis Duncan, Debbie Windsor and the entire staff, countless family and friends, and their community at Lakeview Baptist Church led by Brother Ted White.
Funeral services for Linnie Weeden, 69, of Lake Cherokee will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Lakeview Baptist Church with Rev. Ted White officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
