Linda Utz's Obituary
Linda Joyce Dozier Utz was born in Winona, TX on March 27th, 1942 to James and Lorene Dozier. After a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease she entered her heavenly home on January 17th, 2018 holding her loved one’s hands. On Oct 25th, 1963 she married David H. Utz in Tyler, TX. She devoted her life to raising their two children Carolyn and James. Linda was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church for forty-two years. Fifteen of these years were dedicated to the church’s Child Care Development Center, where she loved many more children as if they were her own. Her hobbies included sewing, watching her humming birds, listening to Elvis Presley, and cooking. No one ever went hungry at Mammaw’s house. She is preceded in death by her father, James Dozier, her mother Lorene Dozier Moore, step father, Leroy Moore, brother Don Dozier, father and mother in law J.E. Utz and Ethel Utz, and nephew Jeffrey Utz. She is survived by her husband of fifty four years, David Utz, daughter Carolyn Durham, son and daughter in law James and Brandy Utz, granddaughter Lauren Greer and fiance’ Sean Smith, granddaughter Lanie Durham, granddaughter Reagan Utz, grandson Ian Utz, sister in Law Ann Dozier, brothers and sisters in law J.E. Utz and Shirley Utz, Charles and Sharon Utz, and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Mobberly Baptist Church “The Crossing” Saturday morning at 10:00.
