Linda was born in Silver Creek, New York and grew up on the shores of Lake Erie in Dunkirk, NY. She graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1973 and decided to become an educator based on her admiration of her high school teachers. She graduated in 1978 from Eastern Kentucky University and moved to Longview, Texas. There she immediately began her 33 year teaching career entirely with L.I.S.D. She furthered her education by obtaining an Elementary Physical Education Certification and a Masters Degree in Education with Mid Management Certification from Stephen F. Austin University.
Joy came to Linda through her devotion to her students and the entire staff at Longview High. Linda firmly believed she was blessed in her life and continually would "Pay it forward". Linda guided her students on every aspect of their lives to "Do Their Best" and "Make the Right Choices No Matter what the Cost". She inspired her students to succeed as she taught Health, Physical Education and coached volleyball, basketball, cross country, track, swimming and golf. She especially enjoyed teaching the PALS program. She was an avid supporter of ALL THINGS LOBOS!
