Funeral services for Lilly B. Nicholl, 82, a two year resident of Longview, formerly a longtime resident of Arlington, will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Longview, with Bishop James Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, May 31 at Rader Funeral Home in Longview. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 3, at Valley View Memorial Park, West Valley City, Utah under the direction of Valley View Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Valley View Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nicholl died Sunday, May 30, 2004 in a local care facility.
Mrs. Nicholl was born September 20, 1921 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Charles and Ethel Bawden. Her grandfather and great grandfather were pioneers of the church and were temple builders in Salt Lake City and Nauvoo, Illinois. She was a longtime dedicated temple worker in the Dallas Temple Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was a lifetime member of the Relief Society. She was a pianist and the church organist for numerous years. Mrs. Nicholl was also a devoted mother and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters and sons-in-law, Karren Guymon of San Antonio, JeNeal and Hal Miller of Provo, Utah, and Marcella and Ronnie Roberts of Longview; brother, Melvin Bawden of Salt Lake City; sister Verena Murray of Mt. Pleasant, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
