Lila Ruth McNeal's Obituary
Services for Lila Ruth McNeal, 78, of Longview will be 10 AM Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery. Mrs. McNeal passed away Saturday evening in a local nursing home. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. The family will receive friends Monday, July 7, 2008 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Lila was born on June 15, 1930 in Meridian, Mississippi to Charles and Maggie Rawson. She was married on November 16, 1951 to Charles McNeal, and they moved to Longview in 1957. She was a retired Registered Nurse and a long time member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Mrs. McNeal was a member of the Quilting and Sewing Guild and she also enjoyed painting. She was a former member of the Golden Rollers RV club of Tyler and she loved camping with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles McNeal of Longview; Sons and daughters-in-law, Al Gene and Jan McNeal of Longview, and Gregg and Dianne of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; sister, Dorothy Miller of Meridian Mississippi; brother, Cecil Rawson of Meridian Mississippi; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Esther Sunday School class of Macedonia Baptist Church, Texas Home Health Hospice, and the doctors, nurses and staff of Whispering Pines Nursing Home.
