Lila Ray Jordan's Obituary
Lila Francis Ray Jordan, 87, of Longview passed away Thursday evening February 9, 2012 at a local hospital. Mrs. Jordan was born on January 1, 1925 in Gregg County. Lila graduated from Judson High School in 1942, and then attended Kilgore College where she became a Kilgore Rangerette in 1943. Lila worked through out her life as a homemaker, in banking services and as a social worker for Gregg County.
Lila Francis Ray Jordan was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Grady Ray and Annie Lou Ray Grigsby; her husband of 60 years Buck E. Jordan; and her son and daughter in law Jim and Jeanne Jordan. She is survived by her sister and her husband Mary and Fred McCain of Denton, Texas; daughter and her husband Diann and Larry Bennett of Longview, Texas; Son and his wife, Mark and Debbie Jordan of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; grand children, Paul Jordan, Jordan Alexander, Riley Jordan, Lara Jordan Laws, Megan Bennett, Brian Bennett, Shelley Bennett; six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the ladies at the Songbird Assisted Living and Texas Home Health Hospice for their care and support of Mrs. Jordan and her family.
Visitation will be on Sunday February 12, 2012 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be a private family graveside service at New Providence Cemetery in Longview. Arrangement and cremation services provided by Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
