Leta Sue Yates Fuller's Obituary
Sue was born on November 23, 1941, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents Wilbur Gunnell and Ruth Inda Blount Yates, and went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2019 at the age of 77.
A 1959 graduate of Longview High, she went on to become a proud member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes. Sue had a love of gardening, cooking, and caring for animals, especially birds. The happiest day in Sue’s life was the day that she became a mother, and later a grandmother and even a great-grandmother. She cherished every moment she got to spend with her family, and had a life-long fondness for Galveston beach.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter Laura Pelaia. Those left to cherish their memories of Sue include her husband of over 30 years, James Fuller; children Susan LaFerney(Stacey), Rick Payne, Jim Payne, Jay Shirts(Heather), Connie Self(Paul), James Fuller, and Cathie Thomas(Joshua); brother Wilbur Yates(Kay), sisters Faye Yates, Yvonne Chamberlain(Jerry); 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Sue will also be remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, at 2 pm in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Rader on Monday, February 11, from 5-7 pm. Pallbearers will be James Fuller, Scott Fuller, Hunter Shirts, Haven Benson, Jonathan Payne and Todd Voelkel.
