Lesslie Lee Burgess' Obituary
Graveside services for Lessie Lee Burgess, 99, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 11, 2002, at Grace Hill Cemetery in Longview under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She died Tuesday, evening, October 8, in Longview.
Mrs. Burgess was born June 8, 1903 in Navarro County, Texas, to John and Lou Ella Singleton. She had been a resident of Longview for the past 69 years, moving from Corsicana. She was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed every aspect of her responsibility as such, and after the death of her husband in 1949, she worked as a department store clerk. She was a longtime member of the Greggton Church of Christ.
Mrs. Burgess was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Arthur S. Burgess.
Survivors include her son, J. W. Burgess of Longview; daughters, Kathryn Craig of Cedarridge, CO., Mary Ruth Neal of Longview, and Dean Burgess Cooper of White Oak; sister, Ethel Kies of Corsicana; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
