Leone M. Brown's Obituary
The family of Leone "Lon" Brown sorrowfully informs you of her death on April 2, 2003. She passed while engaging in her passion: gardening.
Mrs. Brown was a longtime Longview resident, having settled in Longview with her family in 1962. She was actively involved in her church and other
community affairs.
Mrs. Brown was born July 18, 1919 in Charleston, AR. Her parents Christian and Katherine Adams were farmers. She received her bachelors degree from Iowa State Teacher College, now University of Northern Iowa, in Ames,
Iowa.
Lon Adams wed Robert K. Brown in San Antonio, TX in 1948. They had four children, Steve of Littleton, CO, Doug of Austin, TX, Marc of Houston and
Tracy Hellner of Arlington Heights, Illinois. She was the proud grandmother of five girls and one boy and one great grandson. Her husband, Robert, preceeded her in death in September 1996.
A Rosary will be recited at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6. Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 7, followed by graveside services at Rosewood Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
The pallbearers are Floyd Faircloth, Hub Adams, Stu Edwards, Phil Works, Gerard Cace, and Mark Little. Claude Works is an honorary pallbearer. Memorials to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
