Leonard Arnold Gast
Leonard Arnold Gast, 80, of Longview, Texas, passed away September 19, 2013 in Longview, Texas. He was born one of fourteen children to Julius and Emma Gast December 11, 1932 in Bridgeman, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Sargent in 1954. He retired as a Computer Network Coordinator from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Len was a master woodworker and enjoyed building cabinets and furniture. He was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 58 ½ years Linda Gast of Longview; his children, Stephen Gast, Robin Canfield and son-in-law Mike of Bloomington, Indiana; and Andrew Gast and daughter-in-law, Chrissy; granddaughter, Jessica Reed and husband Tony; twin great grandsons, Harrison and Lucas Reed; and Leonard’s sisters, Marge Wolkins, Delores Gast and Loretta Crowley.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview and no formal memorial services are scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heart’sWay Hospice, P.O. Box 5608, Longview, TX 75608 or to a favorite Hospice.
