Mr. Leonard Wade Brooks' Obituary
Leonard Wade Brooks was born February 18, 1922 to his parents Andrew and Myrtle Brooks in Navara County, Texas, and went to be with his lord and savior this past Sunday, September 29.
Wade was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Ernest, Willie George, Buddy and Merrell Brooks, and his sister Kathlene Thomas.
Those who live on to cherish his memory are his wife, Virginia Brooks and Daughter Judy Richie. Along with his brothers Charles and Alvin, and his sisters; Bonnie Price, Maudene Blackburn and Adene Cumbie and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Pallbearers for Mr. Brooks will be; David Brooks, Larry Blackburn, Paul Smelley, John P. Smelley, Wade Thomas and Aaron Keller.
Wade was a sergeant and paratrooper during WWII. He moved to Longview in 1952 and retired from LeTourneau Industries after 20 plus years of service to the company. He had one true past time that he was passionate about, and that was to fish the lakes of East Texas.
There will be a visitation for Mr. Brooks between 6 and 8pm, Tuesday, October 1 here at Rader Funeral Home in Longview, with a grave side service to follow the next day at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Rosewood Park.
