Leo Honea, Jr.
Funeral services for Leo Honea, Jr., 79, of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park. He passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in a Shreveport hospital.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Honea was born May 31, 1933 in Simms, TX to Leo, Sr. and Iva Honea and had been a resident of Longview since 1963. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force. He received his bachelors degree from East Texas State College in Commerce and his masters from Steven F. Austin University. Mr. Honea was retired from the Pine Tree Independent School District as a wood shop teacher in the mechanical drawing department. He was a member of the Loblolly Camping Club and was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Georgia Honea of Longview; his devoted children, Steve Honea and wife Diana of Fredericksburg, Douglas Honea of Lewisville, and Kathy Pepper and husband Mark of Longview; grandchildren, Scott Honea of Houston, Kristyn Honea of Austin, William Honea and wife Meredith of Plano, Jennifer Honea of Honolulu, Kyndra Busha and husband Luke of Longview, Jacob Pepper and fiancé Lacey Boone of Longview, Sean Pepper and wife Lillie of Gladewater, and Courtney Frenchak and husband Michael of Madisonville; great grandchildren, Andy Honea, Maxwell Honea, Emerson Honea, Hunter Frenchak, Addyson Pepper and Maycie Busha; sisters, Marilyn Davis of Daingerfield and Carol Wommack of Mississippi; brother, Travis Honea and wife Patricia of White Oak; and several nieces and nephews.
