Lenora Ann Ridings passed away January 25, 2006, in Longview.
Born May 3, 1921, to Bert and Letha Thompson in San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Ridings graduated from the University of Texas with a major in drama. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. During World War II, she entertained soldiers in camps and hospitals. She was on the Board of Directors of the San Antonio Little Theater and a member of the Actor?s Equity in New York City. Her career in the fashion industry included years as a buyer for Joske?s in San Antonio, Donaldson?s in Minneapolis, Boston Store of Milwaukee, and The White House in Beaumont, Texas.
Mrs. Ridings and her husband Bill retired and moved to Longview in 1980. She was preceded in death by her brother, Judge Bert W. Thompson, husband Michael Kelley, and Husband Bill Ridings.
Mrs. Ridings is survived by her nephew William Thompson and wife Loren, and cousins Bill Karger, Sarilee Ferguson, Ted Terry, Will Terry, and Douglas Terry.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ridings will be held at the Elmira Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
