Lennie B. Jones
Funeral services for Lennie B. Jones, 83, of Longview will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Brother Dan Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Hallsville Cemetery. She passed away Saturday, May 5, in a Longview hospital.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jones was born in Gilmer, TX May 31, 1928. She traveled around the world with her husband Philip and their children while Mr. Jones served in the US Air force for 30 years. They were stationed in Greece, Libya and the Philippines. They retired in 1974 and remained in the Hallsville and Longview area for their remaining years. At the time of her passing she was a resident of Emeritus Eastman Estates in Longview and enjoyed the company of the many friends she made there. She especially enjoyed the company of her caregiver and friend Mrs. Sunny Love, whom she loved very much. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Hallsville Chapter, 995 Order of Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron from 1976-1977. She was affiliated with the Methodist church.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband and they visited most of the states and resided in various states while in the US Air Force. She loved God, her country, her children, grandchildren and babies. She always had a smile on her face and a joyful laugh.
She has reached her final goal to join God and her Husband, Phil, of whom she was married to for 64 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip W. Jones; parents, Gladys Phillips and Foster Wilson; step-father, John D. Manuel; sisters, Stella Cartwright and Bobbie Jean Ethridge; and brother, John B. Manuel; and 2 sons, Tom Jones and Robert Jones.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Philip A. Jones and wife Karen of Berthold, ND, daughter, Linda Gale Veazey and husband John of Wills Point, TX, son, Joe F. Jones and significant other Donna of Trenton, SC and son, John E. Jones and wife Josella Karen of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Henry Wilson of Peabody, MA, sister, Jan Ridgeway and husband Bill of Harleton, TX and brother, Dan Manuel and wife Audrey of Palestine, TX; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
