Lena Viola Nowlin's Obituary
Funeral service for Lena Nowlin will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, December 27 at the Tatum United Methodist Church. Lena passed away peacefully on December 24, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Lena was born on August 18, 1933 in Red Cross, LA to parents Frank and Rosalie Viola. She moved to Tatum TX from Abbeville LA in 1982 and became a very active member of the Tatum United Methodist Church. When Lena wasn’t tending to the church, she was tending to her garden. She loved spending time in her garden and won the garden of the month multiple years.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rosalie Viola; husbands, James Nolan Pitre, and Odom E. Nowlin; as well as a son, Franky Lynn Pitre. Those left to cherish their memory of Lena include her children, Darlene Gopperton and James Pitre; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tatum United Methodist Church in Lena’s name
