Lena Bell Rosser Wright's Obituary
Funeral services for Lena Bell Rosser Wright, 100, of Longview, will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 8, 2003 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Reverend James Shepard oficiating. Interment will follow in Summerfield Cemetery.
Lena died Monday morning, October 6, 2003.
Mrs. Wright was born April 2, 1903 in Paris, Texas to James H. and Sally Inglis Rosser. She had been a resident of Longview since 1934 coming from Bonham, TX. Mrs. Wright was a school teacher having taught in the Bonham and Lubbock school districts, was a member of the Greggton United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and had worked for the Perkin?s Brothers Department Store. After that she and her husband bought and operated Wright?s Grocery and Market from 1949 thru 1962.
Mrs. Wright was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years married August 4, 1926 Andrew Wright; a great-grandson, Jonathan Andrew Holly and two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth & David Whitfield of Longview; granddaughters, Aline Steele, Jo Ann Holly, Sheila Hollis; four step granddaughters; Vicki Bronis, Debbie Key, Pam Wuench and Dede Thomson; step-grandsons, John Whitfield and Rick Dunlap; and a number of great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.
