Funeral services for Lela Mae Dooley, 94, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 3, 2007 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. Gary Orr officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas.
Mrs. Dumas was born on May 3, 1913 in Mason County, Texas to George and Margaret Poe. She passed away on November 1, 2007 in a Longview nursing facility. She was a homemaker and a member of Southern Baptist Church since 1929. She was also a member of the Baptist Women and Eastern Star, both of which she served with for 57 years. She taught Sunday School for the First Baptist Church of Dumas for over 50 years, and was most recently a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Lakeport.
Mrs. Dooley was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Haskell William Dooley. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Jack McCormick of Longview; son, George William Dooley of Striegler, OK; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
