Funeral services for Leila Gene Spradlin, 71, of Longview will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday February 7, 2008 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home with Rev. James Jernigan officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mrs. Spradlin passed away Saturday February 2, 2008 in Longview.
She was born July 10, 1936 in Smithville, Oklahoma. She was a door greeter at Wal-Mart and a member of the Presbyterian faith.
She is survived by her three daughters, LaVone Jesters of White Oak, Anita Shirey and fiancé Raymond Miller of Liberty City, Janice Kay Leach and husband Tony Leach of Longview, son Gene Spradlin and wife Sarah Spradlin of Longview, mother, Laura Carney of Smithville, Oklahoma, brother, Elton Carney and wife Rosetta of Smithville, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Sheree Matthews, Kristopher Spradlin, Alta Jesters, Alton Jesters, Matthew Spradlin, great grandchildren, Bailee Matthews, Jackson Matthews and Kristina Spradlin..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. Spradlin, Sr., son Vernon E. Spradlin, Jr. and her father Edmond Carney.
Active pallbearers will be Matthew Spradlin, Lyle Fort, Thomas Reese, Richard Dykes, Charles Ellis, and Thomas McClenan.. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Carrington and Vernon Vance.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday February 6, 2008 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
