Lee Berkley Pigeon Sr's Obituary
Lee Berkley Pigeon, 84, of Longview, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Christus Good Shepherd Medical Center following a brief illness.
Lee was born October 6, 1933, in Flushing, New York, to Edmond B. and Margaret S. Pigeon. He graduated from Alamo Heights High School, San Antonio, Texas, in 1951, and Tulsa University with a Masters in Chemical Engineering in 1956. On July 30, 1955, he married the former L. Kay Clark in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Lee was employed as a chemical engineer by Eastman Kodak at the chemical plant in Longview, Texas from 1956 until his retirement in 1994. He was active in his church, Trinity Episcopal, for many years, President of the Humane Society of Northeast Texas for 27 years, an active member and board member of the Longview South Rotary for more than 20 years, a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the Tryon Road Special Utility District Board of Directors for 38 years and served as Board President at the time of his death.
Lee is survived by his wife, Kay Pigeon; son, Lee Berkley Pigeon, Jr., and granddaughters Kellee Pigeon and her husband Kenneth Tuttle, Las Vegas, Nevada, Amanda Aguirre and her husband Austin, and great grandson Jameson Aguirre, Lawton, Oklahoma, and Ashley Pigeon, San Antonio, Texas; son Allen C. Pigeon and wife Vanessa, Houston, Texas, and grandson Brandon Pigeon, Houston, Texas, and granddaughter Christin Orban and her husband Scott, Euless, Texas; and daughter Gail Pigeon and grandson Ryan Pigeon, Arlington, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Margaret, and brothers Bradley Pigeon and David Pigeon.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 906 Padon St., Longview, Texas. Rev. Dr. Frank W. Hughes will be officiating. A reception for family and friends will be held in Fellowship Hall following the service.
