Lee N. Neel's Obituary
Graveside services for Lee N. Neel, 87, of Overton will be held at 12 Noon Monday, February 16, 2009 at Rosewood Park in Longview with Reverend Bob Waldman officiating. Mr. Neel passed away Friday morning in Overton. Services are under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Mr. Neel was born October 11, 1921 to Robert and Myrtie Neel in San Augustine, Texas. He was a resident of Beaumont for more than 40 years before moving to Longview in 1991. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during W.W. II and was retired as a grocery wholesaler. Mr. Neel was also a licensed Baptist minister, having served in ministry bi-vocationally in Beaumont, serving as an inner-city mission co-pastor and in a beach mission in Gilchrist, TX which later became a self-sustaining church. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Neel, who passed away in 2000.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Connie Neel of Guymon, Oklahoma; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Larry Haun of Tyler; sister, Gattis Luman of Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
