Lee "MeMe" Crittenden
Services for Lee "MeMe" Crittenden, 81, of Longview will be held at 1 PM Friday, May 15, 2009 in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Crittenden was born on August 22, 1927 in Burkburnett. She passed away on May 13, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Crittenden was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. She married James on Nov 14, 1951 in Kilgore. They traveled extensively while James was in the United States Air Force. They were stationed in Tampa, FL., before being re-stationed in Goldsboro, NC. In 1963 they were sent to Chateaxreau, FR for three years and finally to Travis Air Force Base in CA where James retired in 1967 and they moved back to Longview. Lee operated a daycare known as MeMe's Daycare for approximately 28 years. Some of the children she had taken care of brought their own children to her to care for when they became parents. Lee sold Avon Products for many years and was recently recognized for over 35 years of service with the company. An honor in which she was very proud of. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Lanette Crittenden of Gilmer and Roger and Kathy Crittenden of Longview; grandchildren, Ashley, Morgan, Rachel, Trevor, Cecily, and Sydney; sisters, Dorothy Stocker of Longview, Mary Ruth Walters and her husband Roger of Longview; and brother, Donald Zimmerman and his wife Catherine of Longview as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
