Layla Danielle Hollon Tutt's Obituary
Layla Danielle Hollon Tutt completed her earthy mission and went home to Heaven on June 5, 2024. Born in Longview, Texas, on August 22, 2006, to Sarah and Daniel Tutt, Layla was also affectionately known to her family as Sissy, Bump, Little Bit, Layla Bug, Lay-Lay, and Moon Beam. She was bursting with life and loved to laugh and help others. Layla was an extremely bright, caring, thoughtful, compassionate, funny and adventurous soul who wanted to make everyone around her smile. She loved people, animals, amusement parks, crafts, camping, swimming, jumping on trampolines, rocking in the rocking chair with her Mee-maw, drawing, reading, writing with her beautiful penmanship, music, traveling, taste-testing meals from the family kitchen and watching Sponge Bob, The Amazing Race, and the Olympics. Layla was a natural in front of a camera herself and delighted her family by filming her ’dog talk’ segments when she was a little girl. Blessed with long, thick blonde hair and warm blue eyes, Layla never failed to impress with how articulate and beautiful she was and most certainly would have been a successful actress or newscaster had her time on earth been longer.
Layla attended Hallsville schools, but her intelligence, personality, and impact knew no bounds. Baptized at 8 years old, Layla loved Christ and was a special soul on a mission from Heaven to help others and to spread the message of God’s love and hope. In a selfless act, Layla chose to be an organ donor when she received her driver’s license so that she could help others in their most desperate time of need. Layla was a sweet, precious young lady who left the world a better place than she found it.
In addition to her parents, Layla is survived by her brother Eiland Tutt, grandfather Tom Smyser of Longview, grandmother Patricia Woods of Longview, uncle and aunt Matthew Smyser and Chere Kelly and cousin Heath Kelly-Smyser of Tyler, uncle Joel Tutt of Longview, uncle and aunt Ben and Cathy Tutt of Longview and cousin Austin Chapel, aunt Rachel Tutt and cousin Greyson Tutt of Mililani, Hawaii, uncle Willie Aaron Wilson of Ore City, and numerous other relatives and friends. Layla was preceded in death by her grandmother Mary Smyser, grandfather David E. Tutt, and uncles Jason Tutt and Kelly Tutt.
Services for Layla will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home in Longview on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1 pm prior to the service.
