Lawrence "Duane" Malone Sr.'s Obituary
Lawrence “Duane” Malone, Sr. went home to Jesus on January 17, 2021 at the age of 76. His service will be held at Calvary Tabernacle in Longview on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park.
Duane was born to Walter and Claudia Malone on December 26, 1944 in Paden Oklahoma. He loved sitting out on the porch with his cat, “Tom-Tom”, drinking his coffee and enjoying each day. When it got warmer weather, he loved to “pittle” in his flower beds and watch everything grow. He absolutely loved his grandchildren and loved when they came to the house to visit.
Duane met his wife through a mutual friend in 1965, who brought Duane to her house to visit. Margaret did not like Duane when they first met. Her first words when she saw him was, “Ewwww…who is that?!?” However, they must have grown on each other because two years later, they married on August 18, 1967.
He was such a gentle man and he would do anything for you if he was able. He loved to talk to people and his family.
Duane was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Claudia Malone, his brothers James and Jr Malone. He is survived by his Sister, Joy Johnson, his three Brothers, Thomas Malone, Sr., Larry Malone and Gary Malone, his wife, Margaret Malone, his four children, Debbie Zedlitz, Cindy Malone, Carol Aroche and Duane Malone, Jr. and his 10 grandchildren.
