LaVerne Brock Walker
Services for Vern Walker, 78, of Longview will be at 10:00 am, Monday, February 23, 2009 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Dr. Charles Barham of Mobberly Baptist Church officiating. Committal services will follow in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel. Mrs. Walker passed away at home early Friday morning, February 20, 2009.
She was born February 3, 1931 in Trinity, Texas to Omer and Lila Gilbert Brock, who both preceded her in death. She graduated from Trinity High School and attended Sam Houston State Teachers College in Huntsville, now Sam Houston State University. Vern married W. R. "Bob" Walker on October 30, 1952 and they have lived in Houston, Dallas, and Longview during these 56 years.
Vern is survived by her husband, Bob, and children, Gary and Rita Walker of Longview, and Pam Walker of Round Rock, Texas, as well as many wonderful friends, nephews, nieces, cousins, and loving family. Her son, Rob Walker, preceded her in death.
