LaVerne Harkins
Graveside services for LaVerne Harkins, 74, of Longview will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 28, 2015, at Summerfield Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. She passed away Wednesday, September 23, in Longview.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harkins was born June 8, 1941 in Atlanta, TX to Elton and Nellie Daniels. She was a loving mother and grandmother. LaVerne was a retired operator and formerly worked for AM/PM Answering Service and various other local answering services. She was a member of the Greggton First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sons, James Harkins and Charlie and wife Nicole Harkins; and brother, Marvin Daniels.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Becky Blalack and husband Wes, Charlotte Benham and husband Mike, all of Longview and Angela Harkins and Cody Rothacher of Harleton and daughter-in-law Kathy Harkins; brothers, Charlie Daniels and James Daniels and wife Dora Jean of Longview; grandchildren, Derek Greene, Julia Forrester and husband Winston, Alyssa Greene, Jeremiah Harkins, Todd Harkins, Sommer Harkins, Alexis Harkins, Miesa Harkins and Rylon Rothacher; great grandchildren, Evelyn Forrester and Elijah Stewart; and her loving dog and best friend, Egor; nieces and nephews, Scott Daniels, Duane Daniels, Nicole Phillips and Cheryl Goines.
