Laura Fouse Jerden's Obituary
Graveside services for Laura Fouse Jerden, 95, of Longview will be held at 10 AM Monday, May 1, 2017 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Jerden passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon in a local nursing home. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 9:30-10 AM prior to the graveside at Lakeview.
Mrs. Jerden was born on September 14, 1921 in Mineola, TX to E.D. and Mathilda Fouse. She was married to the love of her life, Jimmie Dee Jerden, on July 7, 1942 in Pasa Robles, California. She moved to Longview in 1940 to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone while Jimmie was in the Army. She was a long time member of Alpine Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and 9 brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gail Smith; grandson, Brian P. Smith and his wife Jessica; great granddaughter Shelby Smith; great grandson Brayden Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff of Pine Tree Lodge and the doctors and nurses with Hospice of East Texas for all their loving care and attention.
