Laura Jean Gossett's Obituary
Laura Jean Gossett, age 66, of Henderson, Texas, passed away peacefully on 3/21/2026 surrounded by her family.
Born on September 17, 1959 in Port Lavaca, she was the daughter of Ernie Roney and Iva Faye Weaver. She was raised in and around the Houston area and moved to East Texas in the late 1980s. She had many different jobs but really enjoyed working in finance, and ended her career as a loan officer at Citizens Bank.
She was a woman grounded in her beliefs. More than anything, she was a devoted mother who raised strong children and supported her children throughout her life. She loved her grandchildren unconditionally. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and enjoyed gardening and going to the beach.
She is survived by her husband of almost 34 years, Howard Gossett, as well as her mother Iva Faye Weaver, and siblings, Debbie Rhea, James Roney, and LaDonna Fress. She is also survived by her children Kristina Grandgeorge, Riley Starr, Sarah Doss, Rachel Bunn, Scott Gossett, Tiffany Cox, Joey Gossett, Mary Jane Stone and their families. She is preceded in death by her father and step mother Ernie and Louise Roney, step father Clifford Weaver, and brother Ken Roney.
Funeral services for Laura will be held in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson on Thursday, March 26 at 12 noon. A visitation will take place the night before at the Funeral Home between 6 and 8 pm.
A private family burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery.
