Laura Elizabeth Knotts
Services for Laura Elizabeth Knotts , 75, of Longview will be 2 pm Thursday at Rader Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Butler, Ed Wachtel, and Jack Park officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Park Cemetery. Mrs. Knotts died Sunday, June 17th at a local care center.
She was born March 15, 1932 in Carrizo Springs, Texas to John and Jemima Garner Sharp. A resident of Longview for most of her life, Mrs. Knotts was manager of a local credit union and had worked in accounts receivable at Complete Business Systems. She was an active member of the Alpine Church of Christ. On March 21, 1953, she married the love of her life, David L. Knotts who preceded her in death in 1976.
Laura was a friend to everybody and loved to help people in need. She visited and took food to the ill and homebound often when she, herself, was not well. She helped others in so many ways and she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Knotts of Longview, her son, Daryl Knotts of Longview, granddaughter, Maegan Knotts of Longview, sisters: Myriam Uppencamp of Carrizo Springs, Mary Joyce Sharp of Dallas, Mercedes Fisher of Carrizo Springs, Shirley Wachtel of Baytown, and Loretta Bouldin of Victoria; brother, John Alfred Sharp of San Antonio and a number of nieces and nephews. Laura was also preceded in death by her parents, John and Jemima Sharp; brothers and sisters: Ruby Berry, William Sharp, Charles Sharp, Jeanette Hanus, Vida Jo Allen, and Mose Allen Sharp
