Laura Elizabeth Brightwell's Obituary
Funeral Services for Laura Elizabeth ?Liz? Brightwell, age 77 of Henderson will be held Monday May 14, 2007 at 2:00PM at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Hall and Rev. Chuck Hawkins officiating.
Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Henderson.
Mrs. Brightwell passed away Friday May 11, 2007 in a Kilgore Hospital.
Mrs. Brightwell was born June 23, 1929, in Lufkin Texas, She was a graduate of Stehpen F. Austin University She was retired from the Henderson Independent School District where she taught for 29 years. She was later the math coordinator for the Henderson School District. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 35 years. She loved teaching, and dearly loved her family, but her greatest love was her love for her heavenly father.
She was preceded in death by a son Andy Brightwell who lived in Shreveport La, her parents Jewel T and Ida Mae Hudgens, brother Ernest
Hudgens, and sister Margie Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years William ? Bill? Brightwell of Henderson who she married August 4, 1951 daughter Mayann Brightwell of Henderson. Son Robert Brightwell and wife Cynthia of Rockwall, daughter in law Cheryl Brightwell of Vinton, La Grandchildren Ivy, Haley, Faith, and Caroline Brightwell, Brother Tommy Hudgens of Lufkin.
Pallbearers will be Richard Smith, Milford Tate, Dalton Jones, Mark Dowden, Glen Deason, Farrell Dorsey, Harold Pool, and Rusty Phenix.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Sanford Ladage, Rev. Lou Brown, Harold Sadler, Pat Brown, Ernest Hudgens, Howard Hall, James Mason, and Gerald Maynard.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6pm at the Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the hospice of your choice, or to the Alzheimers Association.
