The best teacher and coach ever.
Coach James was a premiere gentleman. It was a distinct gift that he was one of my teachers (as well as Miss Maxine) at Pine Tree. He was always courteous, dedicated, calm, yet enthusiastic. His very presence spoke of a man of dignity, integrity and honor. He never allowed for too much foolishness, but always had a twinkle in his eye, and a ready-to-go laugh when he found something humorous. He was a giant in so many ways. He will remain a part of all whom he mentored, coached and taught. He could give you a look that made you know you had stepped out of line, or a grin that told you he saw promise in you. I never had much athletic ability, but that didn't stop Coach from making me feel gifted in other ways. What a man, such a man... that we should all emulate. God Give You Rest Coach... And Peace.
family,
It was our privilege to be a teacher with both Maxine and Larry. Both of them always had a smile and loved kids. Both have been a very positive influence in the PineTree/Longview community. Larry was a wonderful teacher for many years and for many students. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you in the days to come.
I was Honored to have been Coached, and Taught by this Wonderful Man in the Late 60's. He was and will continue to be Remembered by all he Touched. R.I.P. COACH JAMES !
I consider myself really honored to get a chance to meet and have a great fellowship with him in his last days. Despite not being in the best of days in the health of his body, I still found him at best in the health of his soul and faith. Visiting with him wasn't an opportunity just by chance, it was God's plan and I praise Him for that. Though I am sad that Mr James left us but I praise the Lord that he has gone in eternal peace to be with Our Lord where there is no pain and sorrow.
My condolences with the family and I pray for God's eternal peace for the family
So glad I got to meet this kind and talented man.
Love,
Kim R.
My sympathies and prayers are with you. Coach James was a good teacher and an even better example of godliness and morality to all of his students. He made a difference in all of our lives!
