Lanise Michelle Sharpless' Obituary
A service celebrating the life of Lanise Michelle Sharpless, 63, of Hallsville, will be held at 10 AM Saturday, February 10, 2024 in the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview with Pastor Marty Strait officiating. Burial will follow at 3 PM at Resthaven Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Lanise was born on September 23, 1960 in Big Spring, Texas to Oscar and Patsy McElroy. She was the middle child of 5 kids who grew up in Longview Texas. Lanise went to Longview High School and Kilgore Nursing School's Longview Center and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse for almost 30 years.
She was known for her great love of God and her family and friends. That love showed through her generosity, loyalty, caring and compassion. Whether it was through prayer, a great big hug, funny story or good old fashioned tough love, she had a servant's heart and throughout her life helped care for numerous friends and family members when things were at their worst. She was a volunteer, group co-leader and sponsor for a Christian recovery ministry and small groups at church. She loved the ocean, reading, puzzles and card games and was known to be very competitive with games. She was a loving mom of 3 kids and 7 grandkids whom she loved very very much she was a very proud grandma and CeeCee to her grandkids. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her sister Rhudale (Rudy) Jones; her mom, Patsy Horton; and her dad, Oscar McElroy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Morris Wayne Sharpless; her children and their families: LeAnna (Curtis) MacDonald and their kids Joelle, Jeremiah, Grace MacDonald; Cody (Lauren) Sharpless and their kids Kinsey, Boss, Pyper Sharpless; and Daniel (Hai) Sharpless and their son William Sharpless; her siblings, Fred (Butch), Doris, Roger, and Michael.
