Langston Pritchett Brown's Obituary
Langston Brown was born on January 4, 1930, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston, TX to Rev. & Mrs. M. I. Brown. He went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Tuesday April 10, 2012. He married Margaret Gibson Brown on October 4, 1952. Langston retired from Eastman Kodak in April 1986 with 351/2 years of service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hallsville, TX. He was a member and Past Master of James F. Taylor Lodge #169, a member of Little Cypress Masonic Lodge #1459, a 33rd Degree Mason of the Waco Scottish Rite Bodies, and a member of the York Rite Bodies. Langston was also a member and Past Patron of the Hallsville Chapter #995, Order of the Eastern Star.
Langston is survived by his wife, Margaret Gibson Brown; son and daughter-in-law, David Brown and Hermie Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Brown Ball and Michael Ball; grandsons, Steven Ball and wife, Lori; Gary Ball and wife, Natalie; great grandchildren, Christian Ball, Britten Ball and Rosalyn Kay Ball.
Langston was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. M. I. Brown and Maud Gordon Brown and twin great-grandsons, Dallas and Aiden Ball.
Services will be Friday, April 13, 2012 starting at 2pm at Hallsville First Methodist Church officiated by Rev. David Farmer, Rev. Wesley Stevens, Rev. Nathan Hodge and Rev. Shinia Kelsey with an Eastern Star Funeral Service conducted by Darlene Smith. A Masonic Burial Service conducted by Charles Etheredge will follow at Gum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, Longview.
