Lane C. Boddie, Sr.
Funeral services for Lane C. Boddie, Sr., 84, of Longview will be held at Two O?clock pm Friday March 31, 2006 at the Chapel of Rader Funeral Home 1617 Judson Road with Reverend Mike Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Park Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Boddie passed away Tuesday March 28, 2006 in Longview.
Mr. Boddie was born February 19, 1922 in Goodpine, Louisiana to Thomas Albert and Minnie Augusta Boddie. He was one of six children.
In 1942 he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and had a tour of duty in Italy, France, Rome Arno, Normandy, North Apennines, and the Rhineland as a B-24 Gunner/Mechanic where he achieved Corporal and was honorably discharges in 1945.
In 1945 he came to Longview and started his own business as a Painting Contractor until his retirement in 1986 and also had sandblasting and waterblasting businesses.
Mr. Boddie was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Minnie Boddie, two sisters, Marjorie Kelly and Artis Robertson, one brother, Thomas Albert Boddie and a grandchild, Darin Lee Boddie.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Normalee Boddie of Longview, TX.; two sons, Dale Boddie of Longview and Charles and wife Sandy Boddie of Longview brother, Alan Boddie of Gibsalnd, Louisiana and sister Cleo Boddie of Minden, Louisiana grandchildren, April Garcia, Seth and Noah Boddie,, great grandchildren, Salvador Donica Lamas, Sierra Oliva Garcia.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday March 30, 2006 from 6pm until 8 pm.
