Lance Hedrick's Obituary
Jared Lance Hedrick of Longview, Texas, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on May 26, 2026, after a short illness. Lance, a true gift from God, was born Friday, January 10, 1979 at Laird Memorial Hospital in Kilgore, Texas, to Dennis and Cindy Hedrick. Welcoming him home, along with his parents, were sisters, Holly, three years old, and Sunni, one year old. Lance started public school at Leverett’s Chapel at three years of age, moved to Spring Hill with his family in 1988, and graduated a proud Panther with the class of 2001.
Lance was an avid sports fan who loved the players, coaches, fans, and even opponents. He was a fixture on the sideline of every football and basketball game. Lance loved the Spring Hill Panthers, Longview Lobos, Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, and the Dallas Mavericks. He was also quite fond of cheeseburgers, hot dogs, and Dr. Pepper. Lance enjoyed a variety of music genres, but his favorite was listening to large church choirs singing beautiful worship songs. Lance was a faithful member of New Journey Connect Class in the Mobberly Singles Department. He attended Coaches Outreach Bible Study every Wednesday morning with his dad and several retired coaches, and truly loved mixing it up with the guys and eating biscuits and gravy for breakfast.
Lance is survived by parents Dennis and Cindy of Longview; sister Holly Jones, Jay Vasquez, Reese Jones and Tate Jones of Dallas, Texas; sister Sunni Ransom, Russ Ranson, Savanna Ransom, Lizzie Ransom, and Will Ransom of Salado, Texas. Lance is also survived by Grandfather Mickey Mosley and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lance is preceded in death by grandparents Buck and Katty Hedrick, June Mosley, and Howard Lewis.
Lance was gloriously welcomed into Heaven by a host of family and friends, and of course, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We have been forever changed by the light of his life and know for certain that one day we will be reunited with him in glory. Until then, share the Good News of God’s redemptive story.
Services will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11am at Mobberly Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Danville Cemetery in Kilgore.
