Lance Corporal Jared Ryan Johnson's Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for Lance Corporal Jared Ryan Johnson, 21, of Longview will be 12 noon Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 11:30 am with Rev. Mark Kusmirek officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Rosewood Park under direction of Rader Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday night from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Lance Clp. Johnson was born December 7, 1993 in Longview, TX. Jared was a 2011 graduate of Longview High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in November 2013 and left for basic training in San Diego and was currently stationed at Camp Horno on Camp Pendleton, California. On May 14, 2014, Jared joined Weapons Company Combined Anti-Armor Team 2, AKA “CAAT 2”, where he attained the rank of Lance Corporal. He felt privileged and honored to serve the United States of America alongside his ‘brothers.” In his spare time he enjoyed going to the zoo to admire the polar bears, being outdoors, and spending as much time with his beloved wife as possible. He was passionate about his job and loved being in the field working with his platoon. Jared left this world surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, May 10, 2015 on Camp Pendleton, California.
Jared is preceded in death by his grandparents, William Ennis Johnson, Vic Ferchill and Cara Mae Ferchill.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Johnson; parents, William and Cindi Johnson; brothers, Bradford Johnson and William Johnson; and sister, Caitlin Johnson; grandmother, Claire Johnson.
