LaJuan Lowe Carpenter's Obituary
A service of celebration for the life and legacy of LaJuan Lowe Carpenter will be held at Greggton Global Methodist Church on Thursday, April 4,2024 at 2:00 pm with the Reverend Doug Miller, Reverend Mario Parga and Pastor Tem Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at Rader Funeral Home of Longview from 6-8pm.LaJuan passed into the eternal arms of Jesus on March 30, 2024, after an extended illness.
She was born on May 18, 1934, in Joaquin, Texas to Arbon Lee and Vada Samford Lowe. She spent her childhood in several locations but settled in and called Longview her home.
She graduated from Gaston Schools, Kilgore College, and North Texas State University. During her time at Kilgore, she was a member of the World-Famous Kilgore Rangerettes.
LaJuan spent most of her working life in the travel business. She loved to travel and prepared many journeys for individuals and companies in Longview. She gave new meaning to Please Go Away.
She remained an active member of Greggton Global Methodist Church until her health began to fail. A longtime member of the Wellmaker-Joy Sunday School Class and the Care Group. She was always willing to volunteer and support causes that she believed in.
Beyond the church, she was an active member of the Pilot Club of Longview serving in many capacities with the organization including President.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Tracy Steven Carpenter, her brother Arbon Jack Lowe and her twin grandsons Chris and Corey Carpenter.
LaJuan is survived by her son, Temple S. Carpenter III and wife Sandra of Longview, Texas. Her sister Linda Wood and husband John of Longview. Her daughter in law Cindy Carpenter of Longview.
Her grand children and their spouses- Brandon Bussey and wife Paige of Lake Cherokee, April Weber and husband Gary of Longview, Todd Carpenter of Austin, Tara and Randall Peck of Kilgore and Ashley and Chris Jones of Kilgore. Ten Great Grand Children also survive her along with numerous cousins.
She also considered her many church friends, her Pilot friends, and her business friends as her extended family.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Arabella of Longview, PrimeCare Hospice and Dr. Marco Chavez for her care and to the thousands of family and friends that prayed for LaJuan
