LaFaye Richardson's Obituary
Celebration of Life Services for LaFaye Richardson of Hallsville will be held Saturday, January 5, at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church Hallsville with Dr. Tim Watson and Dr. Monty Pierce Officiating. Visitation will be at Rader funeral home on Friday January 4 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
LaFaye was born July 25, 1939 at Granny Toon’s house near Cedar Grove, Texas and died January 1, 2019 in Longview Texas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Hamm, sister, Kathy Shew, husband Larry Hamm and her parents J. E. and Eudine Shew. She is survived by Her husband of 42 years, Thomas Richardson of Hallsville; daughter, son-in law, and grandson, Karen, Alan and Josh Walters of Anna, Tx; grandson, Matt Walters of Dallas Texas; son, daughter -in-law and grandchildren Larry, Danette, Joseph and Danielle Hamm of Whitehouse, Texas; 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and many nieces , nephews, and other family members.
LaFaye was retired from Hallsville ISD where she served for 26 years as the bookkeeper. She was a member of First Baptist Church Hallsville for 42 years where she was actively involved with the youth ministry, keenagers program and continued a birthday card ministry for over 25 years. She was a member of Eastern Star for 44 years and served as Worthy Matron of Hallsville chapter #995 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a strong supporter of both Ladycat and Bobcat athletics and rarely missed an event. Memorial contributions to honor La Faye may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hallsville’s youth ministry.
